Engineering & innovation

At ReBake, the purpose of what we develop is key: mobile cargo tools and electric vehicles so good that riders will want to go electric and leave the car at home. That means evaluating each solution by what it improves, from how the vehicle works and how long it lasts to what it costs to build and how it’s being used.

After more than a decade of commuting, testing different bikes and speaking to thousands of riders, we knew the essentials we wanted to get right. With the Abler, engineering led the design. Comfort, room for a passenger, cargo capability and easy charging shaped the bike from the beginning. Its proportions and exposed construction grew from what it needed to do and how it could be made well. Function first. Always.

The 42 mm aluminium round-tube frame brings several of those needs together. It provides the structure of the bike, a straightforward approach to manufacturing and places to attach your own cargo solutions. Bolt it, strap it or clamp it. Carry things up front, at the rear, across the frame or on the battery lid, and adapt the setup as your needs change.

The same thinking applies to charging. The battery box holds up to two identical, swappable batteries. Charge them in the bike or remove them and use a standard outlet. With one battery fitted, the second slot becomes storage. One space, useful in different ways.

The Abler is over-engineered on purpose, with a frame and components dimensioned like those found on heavier, faster bikes. Proven components, accessible fastenings and established manufacturing methods support our ambition to build vehicles that last, are straightforward to maintain and come at a price that makes sense. Choices that simplify assembly can also make repairs easier, connecting how the bike is built with what it takes to keep it running.

That work continues beyond the bike. Our experience has shown us how production complexity, high costs and limited access to service can hold electric mobility back. Working closely with experienced partners gives us access to their expertise and helps us build a complete business model that supports a healthy company with a strong mission, without reinventing the wheel where industry standards already work.

These decisions work together across the product and the company behind it. Each contributes to the same purpose: making electric transport easier to choose and dependable enough to use every day.
